Just what can one person do?
The other day while working in the library, I scanned the Financial Post, and came across an article titled : The Problem with Philanthropy by George Jonas
To be honest, I graze the Financial Post for the horoscopes and word puzzles, and its dimensions make it an excellent liner for my pet rats’ cages. But I mainly read it to get perspective on the mass media content made available to the average citizen who likes to grab the paper with their coffee each morning.
In this particular case, what caught my eye was George Jonas’ reflection on the nature of philanthropy:
